Irish Fast Food outlet Supermac’s is set to open six new branches in the coming year. It is expected that this will bring in at least 200 new jobs. Speaking in the today’s The Sunday Business Post, the company’s founder Pat McDonagh said that an upswing in the economy bodes well for expansion plans over the next few years.

The first ever Five Guys Burger and Fries restaurant on Irish soil held it’s much anticipated opening today in Belfast. Huge queues waiting outside the restaurant from 11am, as consumers were keen the sample the Irish edition of the highly rated burgers and fries at the first opportunity.

Food lovers will be happy to learn that Ireland’s largest Nando’s restaurant has finally been opened.
The chain will bring more of its famous PERi-PERi chicken to the people of Cork after opening earlier today on Academy Street in the city. It is Nando’s second restaurant in Cork and an 11th location for the franchise throughout the country. Nando’s opened its first restaurant in Cork at the Mahon Point Shopping Centre in 2010.


Calling them “Hearty Hotcakes,” McDonald’s is offering hotcakes topped with a slice of American cheese and chicken ham out in Singapore.

Consumers’ demand for customization along with more healthy food and snacking options has led to the emergence of a new fast casual category — the potato concept. French Fry Heaven — which makes French fries 50 ways in nearly 20 locations — and Potatopia, an East Coast brand that allows guests to create their own baked potatoes by topping them with a variety of meats, cheeses, veggies and sauces, seem to be cashing in on this trend. And they’ll soon have a new competitor.
While Taco Bell urges America to try its Waffle Taco, McDonald’s promotes McGriddles, White Castle whips up Belgian Waffle Breakfast Sandwiches, Dunkin’ Dunuts tempts with Eggs Benedict Breakfast Sandwich and so on, Burger King is going to sell a breakfast item it already knows everyone loves: burgers.
Burger King is rolling out a new “Burgers at Breakfast” menu that makes selected lunch and dinner favorites available in the morning alongside the chain’s regular breakfast items. Previously, the rule was that burgers weren’t available until 10:00 or 10:30 a.m. Some franchisees already had been circumventing that timetable and were selling breakfast burgers. Now corporate has given a formal green light to the practice, within boundaries.
