Five food outlets were fined almost €40,000 plus legal fees after they were prosecuted for breaching food hygiene regulations last month. The largest fine of €21,000 was imposed on Cashel Kebabs, Co Tipperary, for six counts of breaching the food hygiene regulations.

Peri peri chicken purveyor, Nando’s has opened a second Dublin restaurant at the Pavilion’s Shopping Centre, Swords. The new restaurant is the fourth to open in the island of Ireland and the second in Dublin, creating 35 new full and part-time jobs. The first Dublin branch of the world-famous restaurant opened in Dundrum Town Centre in September 2008 and has since become a firm favourite amongst the city’s food lovers.
